NoiseAnomalie (a.k.a Dylan Reeves) has finally graced the trance scene with his freshman album effort, ?Deep in the Bushes?. Being a culmination of his work over the past two years, it provides a wide scope of trance ranging from funky through to downright mindbending, “guaranteed to smoke a dance floor or two.”

Where we’re you born and where are you staying now?
I was born in Cape Town. I now live in the mad town of Stellenbosch.
What do your siblings call you and why?
She pretty much calls me by my name, or when she’s agitated, oi Biatch…
What artists are you currently listening to?
Artifakt, Slug, Twisted System, Pitch Hikers, Phyx, Brethren, Shift, Multistate, Lost and Found, Greekadelia, Parvati and Naked Tourist, Yip I?m pretty much a South African Psytrance whore… I mean fan…
When and what was your initial influence to Psytrance?
My initial influence I would say was hearing Skragg rip up the decks about 5 years ago now… that really got my attention and made me want to learn more about this wonderful music.
What are your favorite VST’s?
Albino I use allot and then I?d say Vanguard, Zeta, Tau and Absynth. I still want to get my hands on Stylus and the Trilogy.
What EFX units do you use?
Ohmboyz, Tonic, Bitcrusher, Quadrafuzz, Fromage and Waves mostly.
What are your favorite pieces of hardware in your studio?
I wish I had lots of hardware in my studio… For now I only have Rokit 5 monitors which serve there purpose and a Korg MicroKontrol. I’d say my favorite though is my Sony Vaio laptop.
Do you think that your sound will last, evolve, shift or become iconic?
My sound will definitely evolve, I?d like to think it will develop into something that will one day be put into peoples CD collections and remembered as a true Psychedelic classic or just get me tons of groupies either way I?m happy… and yes Ashleigh and Tiggr you are the queen groupies…
What was your best experience in front of a live crowd?
I am relatively new so I?ve only played the South African scene so far, but I?d have to say the best so far has been the Audiomatik I played last year, when the sun was shining down on a packed dance floor I could see that everyone was loving my tunes and having a great time… There have been more great times but that sticks out probably because it was the first time I?ve played a full live set and been able to see the crowds reactions…
What animal describes your music best?
The Badger
Where did you find you title, “Noise Anomalie”?
Well it started off as noise pollution, but I didn’t really like it so while making music one night I thought to myself that?s a rather Anomalous sound, hey what about NoiseAnomalie as a name… brilliant I said to my self… he he….
Actually I don’t know I think it just came to me…
What is in the pipeline for your Label or Promoter?
Well our next project will be a Various Artists album, where we are going to approach some of the top names in South Africa for some tracks and then we are looking for up and comers to send us demo’s for this CD…. So contact us at onefootgroove@gmail.com and we’ll let you know where to send them. Also we are hoping to after that various artists album release a collaboration album and that?s all I can say now… Then I reckon I might have a second Album ready end of next year.
Our Record Label also offers expert advice to any artist / label that want to release their own album. We are also prepared to facilitate your release, taking it through the myriad of steps required to get your record on the shelves and websites.

Who else does your label support?
At the moment I am the only signed artist, but we do have some featured Artists and Dj’s Like Malfunktion, Skitzo, Jubilee and The Jester.
If you could do a collaboration with ANY artist, who would it be and why?
Monkey from Korn, because he comes up with the greatest idea’s with his guitar, hell I?d like to collaborate with Korn they make the best tunes.
From what other artist(s) do you gain inspiration?
I am from a metal background so it would be Deftones, Coal Chamber, System of a down, Skindred, NIN, Metallica, Marilyn Manson and then from the psychedelic side, all the South African Act’s, I?d say most of my inspiration comes after I?ve been to a great outdoor party…
Is there any difference in crowds from party to party?
Nope not really, but I?ve only played in South Africa.
Where’s you favorite destination to tour too and why?
I’d say Brazil; I’ve heard such great things about the parties there. Definitely going to try head out that way.
You think you’ll ever NOT be able to make Psytrance?
Nope, I enjoy it to much, I love it I love I love it… I’m a Psy Addict….
How long does it take you to make a track 90% complete?
I would say a week, but there are times when I work through the night and it?s about 90% complete.
Do you create sounds by a fool proof process or is everything freestyle and tweaking?
No, I start a track thinking something and it ends up completely different… most of the time I just go with my feeling as to where the track breaks and progresses…
Do you have tip or trick for us?
Mmmmm, I don’t know. Don’t use the cubase EQ; use an EQing program like Waves.
Read as much as you can about production… and just play around… try new things…
And oh yes…. Stop trying to be cool and just be Sexy!!!
When and what can we expect from your new album?
I would say my next Album will be coming out maybe End of next year.
It?s going to be more psychedelic in nature but the funky edge will stay…
